Irene hails from a large family, born to a Language/ Music teacher father and a mother who served as a Senior Superintendent of Police. Irene is passionate about learning and pursuing its experiences intentionally, and has used this experience to graduate a homeschool setting for her children into Orchard International Christian Academy, now serving more than 50 children in 30 families on the ACE Curriculum (from K-12 to Grade 12).
For more than a decade, Irene volunteered as a youth and young adults leader in multiple faith based settings. She was involved in planning retreats and workshops, training, creating and leading teams to grow their character and skills competencies as future leaders.
Irene currently serves as a Commissioner on the Education Policy Review Commission where she joins a ministerial committee to produce a government white paper on the future of Education policy in Uganda. Irene is a lawyer by profession who has spent more time at the intersection of Education and Training for over twenty years. Irene initially worked with International School of Uganda for over 5 years and has since been involved with various curricula including Cambridge, International Baccalaureate, and lately at length with the Accelerated Christian Education( A.C.E).
Irene enjoys reading, music and conversation punctuating her mostly quiet life engagements informed by a biblical Worldview.
