Founder & CEO

Brian is passionate mostly about 2 things: developing young leaders and the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for Development. Brian currently serves as Partnership Specialist, Africa Region for Medic based in Kampala overseeing the adoption of the Community Health Toolkit as  a platform of choice for public and private sector Community health programs in Uganda.

In 2010, Brian received an achievement award from AED-Satellife – Center for Health and Information Technology, for work related to strengthening Health Information Systems in Uganda, using African Access Points and Mobile Devices. Brian has served on the council of the Free Software and Open Source Foundation for Africa (FOSSFA) as the Secretary General (3 terms on the executive committee) of the foundation, including overseeing bi-annual summits in Abuja, Nairobi, Kampala as well as building Africa-wide networks. Brian also volunteers with the Creative Commons movement for which I now serve as the Global Network Council Representative for Uganda.

Brian has led diverse teams as a co-founder and/or in senior management roles with Clarke International University, Watoto Ministries, Ubunifu Systems, and Kampala Leadership Hub.

As a Global Health Corp Brian completed his fellowship program working in Communications and also served as Alumni Program Manager, overseeing program work to support a community of more than 850 global health leaders in more than 35 countries in the world.

He is a founding member of the ICT Association of Uganda, and holds a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, a Postgrad diploma in Information Technology and an MBA (International Business) with Amity University of India. When not exploring the world through technology events and adventure, Brian loves to cook meals for family and friends, enjoy a good book, post a blog or play the guitar.

The future of the continent lies in the young people. Education will be key, but even more importantly, mentorship and coaching from elders and managers.

Brian has a Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.), Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology at Amity Business School and a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) at Makerere University of Kampala.
